Aidenvironment’s expertise covers a wide range of sustainability themes. We continually enhance and expand our knowledge and explore new areas of activity. Our profound knowledge of social, environmental and economic sustainability issues, and local conditions in Southern countries, is backed by considerable methodological expertise.

Creating sustainable value chains has been our core activity for more than twenty years. Drawing on our extensive knowledge of value chains in developing countries for commodities such as soy, oil palm, biomass, timber, cocoa, coffee, tea and non-timber forest products, Aidenvironment supports committed key actors with portfolio and value chain analysis, for translation into strategy and policy development and implementation of value chain improvement.

Our activities in relation to climate change and ecosystems are geared towards developing solutions for the problems caused by the degradation of ecosystems. Human population pressure and the resulting land-use change cause biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation. Our in-house knowledge of biodiversity, ecosystems and the dynamic relations between natural ecosystems and agricultural expansion, eenables us to develop integral solutions.

Our sustainability analysis and customized tools and services help decision-makers, entrepreneurs and investors realize their sustainability ambitions. These connect policy and practice, balancing people, planet and profit values, and engaging key stakeholders. Our services are based on wide experience and include design, assessment, monitoring and evaluation tools, and participatory procedures.

In addition we are a hothouse for smart, small-scale, innovational initiatives. Although commercially less lucrative, our incubating work delivers the know-how for upscaling these innovations into high impact solutions. Our incubator currently fosters three independent initiatives that focus on water supply in developing countries - independent foundations, managed and housed by Aidenvironment.
