Incubator

Our incubating work delivers the know-how for developing smart, small-scale initiatives into high impact solutions. Our incubator currently fosters three independent initiatives that focus on water supply in developing countries. Each are independent foundations, managed and housed by Aidenvironment.

Ecological Management Foundation (EMF)
Founded in 1990 by Allerd Stikker, EMF identifies and develops small-scale solutions to improve access to clean water in developing countries. The emphasis is on finding the proper technology, distribution channels and financial instruments. EMF works closely together with the business community and civil society.

Micro Water Facility (MWF)
Established in 2007, MWF is a practical spin-off of EMF and supports social entrepreneurs in launching innovative water and sanitation products on Southern markets. The activities of the two organisations are closely aligned. Whereas EMF focuses on initiating and incubating high impact projects, MWF is deal driven. In other words, once EMF has finished incubating a project, MWF takes over.

RAIN
Water resources all over the world are either depleting, unable to meet growing demands, or technically or financially inaccessible.
Initiated by Aidenvironment in 2003 in response to international appeals for sustainable water supply, RAIN aims to fill this gap by playing a crucial role in the implementation and promotion of rainwater harvesting as a renewable water source of growing importance.
