Benefit for Sustainable Palm Oil Growers in Papua New Guinea 16 March 2011

More than 8000 certified sustainable smallholder palm oil growers in Papua New Guinea stand to benefit from a £9 million new processing facility at a Liverpool palm oil refinery in the UK which will be the world's first operation of its type dedicated to manufacturing bakery and foodservice products made with palm oil.

This follows
the announcement by New Britain Oils Ltd (NBPOL), the fully owned UK refining
subsidiary of New Britain Palm Oil Limited (NBPO), one of the world's largest
fully integrated suppliers of sustainable palm oil. All the
palm oil supplied into the Liverpool refinery is currently sourced from NBPOL's
own Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil Certified Sustainable operations in
Papua New Guinea.
