New CRR Report shows JJF Holding land grabbing case may intensify deforestation
The new CRR report shows that land tenure insecurities linked to the JJF Holding land grabbing case may intensify deforestation in the area. The JJF Holding land grabbing case covers an area of 366,000 ha in Formosa do Rio Preto, Bahia, in the Matopiba region of Cerrado biome in Brazil. Bunge, ALZ Grãos and Cargill have warehouses operating inside the area, which exposes them to deforestation and financial risks in the region.
