RSPO suspends Certification Process for IOI Corp. 10 April 2011

Last week, the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) suspended an ongoing certification process for major plantation firm IOI Corp. Bhd. following land-dispute complaints and charges of deforestation by non-governmental organizations. The complaints concerned Ketapang district in Indonesia and Sarawak province in Malaysia. The RSPO states on its website that IOI Corp. breached its principles with regards to land disputes and conversion of areas with high-conservation values into crop lands.
