Development of a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for IDH 2014

Aidenvironment developed a robust, credible and practical approach for impact monitoring and evaluation of four commodity programs of IDH (Coffee, Cotton, Cocoa and Tea). Impact evaluations are necessary for assessing the generated change in programs as well as the impact of the program and the attribution of the program to these impacts. Based on an extensive impact study in the four commodities, a framework was developed based on the Theory of Change with a list of clear indicators and a approach to implement the framework in IDH’s daily practice. The project had a strong learning element for IDH, contributed to the accountability to funding partners of investments in IDH and generated knowledge and insights from the analysis of impacts studies.
