Diagnostic Study Indonesian Oil Palm Smallholders 2013

In assignment of IFC, Aidenvironment, in consortium with Global Sustainability Associates and Triodos Facet, conducted in 2012 and 2013 a diagnostic study on Indonesian oil palm smallholders. It included among 1069 independent and tied smallholders on Sumatra and Kalimantan and provided a wealth of data on agronomic practices, physical context, and enabling context (access to technical assistance, farmer organization, markets, inputs, infrastructure and finance). The study resulted in the identification of the following key support strategies to upgrade smallholder performance. The tool developed under this assignment, the Smallholder Diagnostic Survey Instrument, provides a systematic approach to perform baselines and needs assessments.
