Including Sustainability in Palm Oil Financial Rating 2013 – 2014
Aidenvironment and its partners Profundo and Climate Advisers are working under the name Chain Reaction Research, (CRR) to assess and rate six palm oil company holdings that have entered or plan to float their shares on stock exchanges. Palm oil plantation companies and their expansion plans are analyzed on their sustainability and financial risks. Through publishing and promoting in-depth sustainability analyst reports, CRR aims to influence the mainstream analysts in their thinking about the risks associated with investing in company groups that expand their oil palm plantation land banks in contested landscapes.
The long-term objective of this project, which is supported by a grant from the David and Lucille Packard Foundation, is to make sustainability a standard criterion in mainstream investment and lending decision-making in the finance industry. Information can be found on the CRR website.
