Midterm Evaluation of PAX Extractives, Conflict and Human Rights Program 2014
Aidenvironment performed from a midterm evaluation of PAX’s Extractives, Conflict and Human Rights (DMC) program that runs from 2011 to 2015 in Colombia, South Sudan and DRC. The DMC program aims to limit human rights violations and conflicts associated with extractive industries and promote peace and justice. The program takes action at community level in mining areas, on national and on international level. The midterm evaluation focused mainly on coalmining in Colombia. Aidenvironment made use of OECD/DAC evaluation criteria for evaluating the strategic directions, efficiency and effectiveness of the results and structural changes achieved by PAX.
The midterm evaluation included an assessment of the paper-trail, in-depth interviews with PAX staff and key stakeholders, a field visit to the mining area in Colombia by our associate consultant in Colombia and a workshop with PAX staff to present the draft report and obtain feedback.
