South Korean companies outsized impact on palm oil leakage market
Aidenvironment being part of Chain Reaction Research released a report on the role of South Korean companies in the worldwide palm oil market and the country’s position as an owner of oil palm concessions, buyer of palm oil products, and a financier of palm oil operations.
The palm oil “leakage market,” refers to trading unstainable palm oil from growers and producers that are not compliant with No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation (NDPE) policies. The report shows how several Korean companies are linked to environmental and human rights issues in Indonesia.
