Chris Wiggs - Aidenvironment

Chris Wiggs has a background in wildlife conservation, having worked for many years with primate rescue and conservation NGOs in Indonesia and the UK. His work involved both caring for captive primates and providing administrative support to conservation projects. As many primates in Indonesia are threatened by agricultural expansion, he became involved in efforts to prevent forest loss by palm oil companies, principally through the mechanisms of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. This work lead to him to study for an MSc in primate conservation at Oxford Brookes University in the UK. For his MSc project, Christopher worked with Aidenvironment to conduct a study in to the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil complaints system, analysing its strengths and weaknesses and how effective it has been at conserving forests on plantations in Indonesia and Malaysia.

Chris joined Aidenvironment Asia in July 2017, bringing his previous experience in wildlife conservation to efforts to improve sustainability in palm oil supply chains, and improving stakeholder mechanisms for sustainable palm oil.
